Come and Ride at Kielder
With Kielder Area Horse Trails (KAHT)
Bring your horse and ride around the lake, or through the many forest tracks. Kielder Water & Forest Park is an area of stunning beauty and
tranquility, home to Northern Europe's largest man-made lake.
At 250 square miles, it is also England's largest forest. It not only encompasses Kielder village and the reservoir, but also extends to Redesdale in the east, Wark in the south and Kershope and Newcastleton in the west, all of which offer good riding with spectacular views in one of the quietest places in the country.
There are also plenty of other things to do in Kielder if you are accompanied by non-riders. Plenty of scenic tracks are availalbe for walkers to explore, and cyclists can enjoy the
many challenging cycle trails built by Kielder Trail Reivers. The Reservoir offers a chance for a Water Cruise, and there are many opportunities for water sports along the miles of open water. You can visit Kielder Observatory to see the stars, take the children to the Minator Maze, visit Kielder Castle, or see the largest and most fascinating collections of birds of prey in the North of England.
